Here Comes The Bride

We were so excited; the day we've been anticipating over the past year has come! My best friend got married at the Marriott Resort in Horseshoe Bay. It was a beautiful wedding and even more beautiful bride. I've never seen anyone more happy on that day and I'm so thankful I got to be a part of it. Melanie planned the weekend perfectly with true Melanie-style, complete with putt-putt and a BBQ in the condo Friday night, a girls' brunch Saturday morning (that I sadly had to miss) and pictures with her close friends before the ceremony.

I went up to Melanie's room around 2:30 to get my hair styled by the fabulous Miranda McGuire, which looked awesome by the way. Being the perfectionist that I am, (AKA: type A, high-strung, future "bridezilla") I expected Melanie to be running around and stressing out about last minute details. I should've know little Miss Melanie would be perfectly calm and put together. Miranda did such a great job with her hair, the dress and jewelry looked phenomenal and Melanie was beaming. I'm so glad we had that extra time together to talk, drink mimosas and reflect before the pictures. Well, it was more like Melanie reflecting, while I was busy calling the flower lady over and over again and working up a pretty nice temper. Hey, flowers are important and I don't want anyone messing up my best friend's day.;)

Here comes the bride..." Melanie's brother Zach prepared for several months in order to marry Neil and Melanie. It was his first wedding, he did such a great job and really impressed everyone there. In a letter I gave to Melanie before we took pictures, I wrote, "Thank God for waterproof mascara!" which held to be true during their ceremony. The reception was perfect and Nolan and I , along with my mom, dad, sister and cousin had our fun dancing to the fantastic (rock and everything else) band. I even danced with Melanie's mom to "Baby Got Back," so we can definitely call it a successful night on the dance floor.

I'm so excited for Neil and Melanie and can't wait to see their life together unfold. They are a true example of a couple walking in their faith and I know God will continue to lead them down His path. I love Neil and Melanie together and I couldn't ask for a better guy to make my best friend's dream come true. I am happy they found each other, even though it was inevitable, and only wish for the best for them! XOXO
